Evan Minard
Assistant Adult/Kids Coach
Purple Belt
Evan began his martial arts journey 6 years ago. It began with a 90-pass at school offering Tae Kwon Do and Japanese Jiu Jitsu, where Evan quickly discovered his passion for grappling. After some time, he transitioned from Japanese Jiu-Jitsu to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Evan leads the Hero’s BJJ class, which is a free class for all first responders, and military veterans. Evan can also be found assisting with the kids classes, which is one of Evans greatest joys.
Evan is an important part of our gym culture and we are honored to have him as part of the Memento Combat Sports leadership team.
- Hobbies- When I’m not on the mats, I enjoy caring for the animals on our alpaca farm and engaging in various outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, boating, mountain biking, and fishing. Besides being active, I love reading and playing board and card games with my family.
- Guilty Pleasure- I enjoy watching “trash” reality tv with my wife from time to time.
- Fun Fact About Me- An interesting fact about me is that after college, I embarked on a three-month solo backpacking trip through Europe. My journey started in England and took me as far east as Turkey, covering many countries in between. A highlight of this adventure was running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, during the San Fermin festival, where I briefly ran alongside Dennis Rodman and someone dressed in a chicken outfit.
